God loves you!
How often have we heard that? For most people, it has lost its meaning.
A lack of understanding of the Love of God causes problems from theological error to personal depression. Revelation of the Love of God is necessary for faith to be effective.
Eph 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (emphasis added)
So much in this passage!
CHRISTIANS NEED THE LOVE OF GOD
Paul was praying for Christians to know the love of God. You would think they already knew it. But, they obviously did not. Christians live like God only loves sinners. We need a new and growing revelation of the Love of God.
ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN THE LOVE OF GOD
Revelation of the Love of God becomes THE source of strength for the Christian. The strength of tree during a storm is directed related to how rooted it is in the ground around it. We are very much the same. A person who is not "rooted and grounded in love" has no strength during the storms that come.
COMPREHEND - WIDTH, LENGTH, DEPTH, HEIGHT
We need to study the love of God. Pray for revelation, look at in the scriptures, mediate on the Love of God. No matter how big or vast you think the Love of God is; trust me its is so much more.
KNOW... WHICH PASSES KNOWLEDGE
This is know something in your heart, not just your head. It happens all the time, people act on information, but its not revelation. Therefore it is not effective. Information (head knowledge) is important and comes as a result of gathering (reading, listening, etc.) Revelation is the next step. It comes as a result of the Holy Spirit. Pray, as Paul did for the Ephesians, that the revelation of the Love of God comes in your life.
FULLNESS OF GOD COMES FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
God does NOT just love, He IS Love. The more we "know" the Love of God the more God, Who is Love, fills our life. Imagine being filled with God. You can, to the level you "know" the Love of God. You will not be filled with God beyond your "knowledge" of the Love of God.
Sunday February 12, we are bringing a message called "Lying Ugly - Miracle of Marriage".
This will be a powerful message of restoration. Every marriage and relationship can be restored. This is NOT just for married folks either. This is a picture of how our lives can be restored by the Power & Love of God.
