New Location, Sabbath Rest, 10,000 egg hunt, Easter, Baptism

New Location & Egg Hunt!
Dear John,

So it begins... Thank You, Jesus!

Sunday April 1, 2012 - we begin services at our new location.  You are invited to join us Sundays 10:30AM and Wednesdays 7PM.

1732 Thames Drive, Clarksville, IN 47129 - click for map

Hebrews 4 tells us to be diligent to enter his Sabbath rest (4:11), we do this 365 days a year. This rest is found only in the Messiah who accomplished all of God's work in our place. If you do not cease from your labors then you are not obedient to the New Testament Sabbath.

Not trying to be controversial, but I want to share something with you.  During prayer the other day, an angel began to share a message from the Lord about this.  He said the Sabbath rest has always been available to His People.  Many simply can not trust Him to receive it.

Its a rest of trusting God.

Not that we don't have things to do and say, but we don't carry the responsibility.

Say this: God's got this!

We look forward to seeing you Sunday, April 1 at the new location.

****Also we want to invite you to Southern Indiana's Largest Easter Egg Hunt.  April 7 at 11AM - 10,000 Easter Eggs - Lots of Candy, music and more! ****

Be blessed,

Pastor John Carmichael

Overcoming Stress, Lasting Life Food Ministry & More

The Word Seed

Greetings!

Things are moving; things are changing!

We had a great service this past Wednesday with Pastor Bob Rodgers at our NEW LOCATION.  The atmosphere was amazing.

A special thank you for everyone who helped move equipment to make it a special night.

...for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.  Nehemiah 8:10

There is a powerful truth I want to share with you here.

Many times when there are changes, especial relocations in our lives turmoil, confusion and negativity tries to creep up on us.  Change is hard for us to handle sometimes, even when its good change.

Last year, my family moved to Southern Indiana.  Wow.  A much bigger house, closer to the church and who wouldn't want to be a Hoosier, right?

Our children loved it.  They were closer to their friends from church.  They got bigger rooms.  And they did not have to endure the long drive every time we went to church.

Even though it was a great move, they loved the house and they were glad to be there, it was hard them at times.  Several nights, Erin and I would have to comfort one of the children.  Feelings of insecurity, missing familiar things and learning new things would become overwhelming.

With a little comfort and much prayer, they overcame and have not looked back.

As the church moves location, we can sometimes battle the same things as well.

I want to give you some pointers to over coming stress from this verse of Scripture:

1.  Make it holy to God.  In other words, stay focused on God and His Purposes.  Our flesh, with the willing assistance of the enemy, will resist some changes in our lives.  During times of transition we are tempted to look at the negatives instead of celebrating the positives.

By focusing on the fact that we are led by God, we will overcome the temptation to become negative.  He always leads us to a great place.

2.  Do not sorrow.  When transitions come, we will get into a grieving place in our soul.  I have seen times where people have gotten a new home and a heaviness came on them.  They started bickering with one another and could not get along.

The revelation in this verse is we can choose not to sorrow.  When God says "don't" that means we have the capacity to determine whether we control that behavior.  Sorrow and grief are decisions that are made by us.  The good news is that they can be un-made by us.

One of the most powerful ways to overcome heaviness is with praise.  Isaiah 61:3 says, "the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."

Notice the Bible calls heaviness a "spirit".  It must be resisted.  And it is over come with a decision to put on a "garment of praise."

3.  Joy=strength.  Now is the time celebrate with the joy of the Lord in our hearts!  He is moving and has released His Favor on this move.  We are positioned like never before to expand our out reach for the Kingdom.

Some have told me that they dont have joy.  That means one of two things: 1.  they dont have the Holy Spirit in them or 2.  they are not making the decision to tap into the Holy Spirit in them.

How can I say that?  Joy is a fruit of the Spirit.  Galatians 5:22.  If we have the Holy Spirit living in us, the joy is there with Him.  We have to tap into it by faith.

Let me encourage you to stay focused on what God is doing, resist sorrow with praise and tap into the joy of the Lord thats already on the inside of you.

In summary, as I would say to my children, "Its ok."

We love you very much,

Pastor John Carmichael

Some Daily Confessions... based on the Word of God

Power is released when we make His Word our confession.

Angels are released when we give voice to the Word of God - Psalm 103:20 "Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word."

Some daily confessions for you:

1. JESUS IS LORD OVER MY LIFE. Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

2. I AM FREE FROM THE CURSE AND THE BLESSINGS OF ABRAHAM ARE UPON ME. Ga 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

3. I HAVE FAITH. Ro 4:17 ¶ (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed--God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

4. I AM PROTECTED. Isaiah 54:14 In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.

5. I AM WORRY FREE. John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

6. I AM HEALED. Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

7. MY THOUGHTS ARE GOOD. Proverb 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

8. I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

10. EVERYTHING THAT I LAY MY HAND TO PROSPERS. Psalms 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

11. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD.

12. I HAVE NO FEAR. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind

13. I CAN RESIST TEMPTATION. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

14. I AM THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL. Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

15. GOD WILL FINISH THE WORK THAT HE STARTED IN ME. Romans 11:29For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.  Philippians 1:6 ...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

Battle, New Location, Word Seed, Spring Forward

THE BATTLE

And he said, Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but Gods.  II Chronicles 20:15

What an encouraging verse!

Jehoshaphat and the people, were being surrounded by their enemy.  As was often the case, their enemies were many and their resources were few.  Survival was in doubt and victory was a fantasy.

What is the right reaction to that situation?

Many times it seems like that is our situation.  Our enemies may not be from distant places or have hard sounding names, but still as potent.  Our eyes tell us in vivid detail the strength of our adversary and our mind reminds us mercilessly our weakness.

Notice: Jehoshaphat's prayer.

It has to be observed he and the people sought God.  Isn't that what everyone does?  No.  Many just throw up a religious half-hearted attempt to seek God.  Yet, they will talk 100 times more about the issue to the friends, family and foes than to their Father.

Prayer of Faith or Fear

While the king did pray, was it a prayer of faith or fear?  Opinions aside, there are probably better prayer patterns to follow than his.  Jehoshaphat's prayer is from the position of before the cross and resurrection.  Meaning he was not able to enjoy the authority we believers have today.  We can pray in faith with authority over our circumstances.

One would be benefited to understand the authority of the believer.  Today, only the prayer offered in faith obtains anything.  There needs to be an understanding of how to pray based on the Word of God with full expectation of an answer.

Gods Response

When we pray, God answers.  In Jehoshaphat's case, God raised up a man to proclaim the answer.  Does God always do it just like that?  No, He doesn't.

This is important, we can always expect a result yet we can't dictate the method.

A Promise

We can stand on the promises of God.  The Spirit of the Lord came upon a man to proclaim direction and comfort.  That is what they needed... that is what we need.  Direction and comfort.

As we seek Him patiently, He will show us our part.  Sometimes is rise up and fight.  Sometimes is be still and trust.  Direction is vital in every situation.

Then He lets us know what to expect.  The Father promised them, He would give them victory.  Comforting children is one of the responsibilities of the a parent.  Our Father does not neglect to provide comfort for His children especially during trying times.  Remember He is the God of all Comfort.  II Corinthians 1:3-4

New building...

God is doing amazing things for us.

We take possession of the new building March 10.

Pastor Bob is coming to preach at the new building March 14 at 7pm.

We won't start having services permanently until April 1 (no kidding).  :)

1732 Thames Drive, Clarksville, IN 47129

We had a great prayer meeting.  The Gifts of the Spirit were poured out abundantly.  He was speaking through His People.

The theme of the meeting became direction and comfort.

God is wanting to direct His People.  There is no greater time to seek for direction than now.  Times of transitions can be dangerous if not led by the Spirit.  He will led us clearly and directly.

Many people have a hard time with transition.  Children will need comforted when moving to another house.  We need to declare comfort and peace over our lives as transition takes place.

As God transitions us corporately there are coming transitions individually.  Stay close to the Lord.  Expect God to take your family and you to another level.

Clear direction and abundant comfort in the Name of Jesus Christ over Evangel North Church & Partners.

We love you,
Pastors John & Erin Carmichael

The Word Seed
The Word Seed - Sermon Series

And He said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? Mark 4:13

To fully understand the parables of the Bible we must first understand the Parable of the Sower.

During the month of MARCH, we are going to uncover the revelations of this parable. You will then be able to see all the promises of God through the light of this power parable.

Does the Word work all the time for all people? Why?
Does everyone get the same harvest? Why? Can I change the amount of harvest?
What makes the Word seed? How do we plant Word seed?
Does not getting 100 Fold results mean it doesn't work at all?

These and so many other questions are going to be looked at during this series.

For fun, you are invited to wear BIB OVERALLSMARCH 4th.

We are receiving new Covenant Partners March 4 and also having a GRACES & PLACES lunch after service. Bring your best dish.
